The Detroit Fine Arts Breakfast Club (DFABC) is an art enthusiast group that encourages and supports the fine arts in the Metro Detroit area. The group was started several years ago when art collectors Henry Harper and Harold Braggs began to meet for breakfast on Mondays to discuss art.   Soon others were invited and the group has grown over the years to include other artists, collectors and enthusiasts.  Today the group meets at 5:00pm at the same Coney Island on Livernois and has grown to an estimated 80-90 people. They gather to share art, sell art, raffle art, get educated about art, announce openings and other art events, and even perform art. It’s an exhilarating, infectious, and inspiring atmosphere that motivates people to come back week after week.

The group has come to the attention of many in Detroit’s established art world. They have been invited to the DIA several times by director Salvador Salort-Pons, won the Torch of Wisdom award in 2017, been written up in the Detroit Free Press, invited to LA by hall-of-fame songwriter Allie Willis, organized auctions and art fairs, mentored artists and collectors, and springboarded the careers of several in their group.  The DFABC is excited to be participating in this year’s Arts Beats & Eats art fair.  They plan to continue to be a part of the creative and artistic momentum that is taking off in the city of Detroit.
