OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS - JUMP AROUND PLAYZONE & Interactive Discovery Farm from Bowers Farms
New this year, Oakland County Parks will bring free family fun with the “Jump Around” inflatable play zone and the Interactive Discovery Farm from Bowers Farm. Families can meet friendly farm animals, explore hands-on activities about Michigan agriculture, learn cool trivia about farm life, discover the amazing uses of wool and enjoy inflatable attractions for free throughout Labor Day weekend. BOTH ACTIVITY ZONES ARE FREE. The collaboration joins the Detroit Institute of Arts, Cranbrook Institute of Science, the Detroit Zoo and other leading regional institutions in creating what is among the most comprehensive collections of free family programming at any festival in Michigan.
You can find the Bowers Farm activation inside the Kid’s Zone on Center St, north of 4th Street, and you can find the Jump Around Play Zone at the northeast corner of 7th and Washington Royal Oak First United Methodist Church Lawn. BOTH ACTIVATIONS ARE FREE!
FREE ARTS AND CRAFTS
This year, the entire family can enjoy FREE Arts & Crafts. In the Kids Zone at Arts, Beats, and Eats, kids will have the opportunity to make a variety of fun and engaging art projects!
CRANBROOK INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE
Visitors can expect science with a healthy dose of spectacle when Cranbrook Institute of Science brings some of its most popular interactive experiences to Arts, Beats & Eats.
A towering Tyrannosaurus rex, high-energy experiments, live animal encounters and even edible insects will turn the festival grounds into a hands-on playground for curious minds of all ages.
MICHIGAN SCIENCE CENTER
The Michigan Science Center will be bringing out your kid’s inner scientist!
Explore the chilling effects of extreme cold in this frosty demonstration! Using liquid nitrogen (LN2), we'll showcase some 'cool' reactions and transformations as everyday materials are exposed to freezing temperatures.
Carnival
TJ Schmidt Carnival will be providing a family carnival and will have plenty of rides geared toward families (kids ages 4-12 and adults) located in the Sherman Lot in the north end of the festival.
Carnival tickets will be $1 each, and rides will be between 4 and 6 tickets per ride.
Ride List and Ticket Amount for each ride coming soon!
The carnival will run between 11 am - 11 pm Friday through Sunday and from 11 am-9 pm on Monday. Ticket booths close 1/2 hour before rides close.
